Asses of Evil

Have you ever googled the words 'Stop Bush graffiti'
I have.
You know you're unpopular when you have sites like these showcasing various pieces of artwork in a multitude of languages with the same message.
http://stopbushproject.com/
My reason for this search was to find an elusive image that I had heard about. It's a mural saying 'STOP BUSH' where the 'S' on the 'BUSH' is a swastika.
For those of you fortunate enough to have watched the Chaser's War on Everything last night, you will have noticed what I have been saying all along about a repeat of the Holocaust when US correspondent Charles Firth interviewed Americans to find out if they believed Muslims should carry Identity cards.
Among the questions and answers:
Q: 'Should American Muslims carry identity cards?'
A: "Yeh so we can identify them"
Q: "Should American Muslims be incarcerated until the war is over?"
A: 'Yes'
A: 'No. Not just until the war is over. Forever!'
Q: "Should American Muslims have numbers on their skin as a way of identifying them?'
A: 'Yes absolutely'.
Heil.
I have.

Indeedy, how bizarre was it? Some of those old codgers fought in WW2...and they still didn't get it!
It is also really frightening....we live in very dangerous times....and what do they say about history...we are destined to repeat it if we do not learn from it...

this period of unmatched military power has let these people bloom. the diversion of taxes into bloated military spending has at the same time begun the process of weakening the economic base of that power. so the militarists will have their wealth and power, while ensuring it won't last. shame they will do so much damage while in power, though.
in the meantime, people sneer at bush, but do nothing to change the structure of society which makes his rule possible. if everyone who despises bush joined mike gravel's initiative for democracy, perhaps the military-industrial complex could be brought under control. it's the only chance i can see.

I was thinking the same thing. There's no excuse for forgetting any atrocity. Cultural memory has said we should never forget and we haven't really forgotten anything. We're just selective about what we choose to remember, how we choose to remember it and when we can say 'bugger it, we'll make an exception in this case'.
It is frightening because there's no telling how serious and how far it will go before people take notice.
al loomis,
I agree with you in every way. Bush is merely a puppet to higher powers, a symbol of all that is wrong in that society and I'm certain that nothing will change once he is removed.
Without the strong economic base their militaristic empire will undoubtedly fall but not without causing considerable damage in the process.
